How can anyone be happy
In a world made of facts?
It’s the ‘human dimension’ that’s lacking
In this state of Being
Connections are missing
In this net of relations
Touches longing
For affairs that never were
How could one feel joy
Under a flat steel sky
Raised amid a mess of Real
With ‘Duty calls!’ and ‘Mind your thoughts!’
But, mostly, ‘Never mind, at all’
You’re just standing there unwavering
Neatly in pure rows of reason
Clear and pointless
Why climb to find
The vessel empty
Last mariner
Lost in history
